The President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, marked the 30th anniversary of Rwanda’s liberation by participating in the celebrations at Amahoro National Stadium on July 4, 2024. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Rwanda Journey Continues,” highlighting the country’s progress towards sustainable development.

In his address to the crowd, President Kagame reflected on the struggle to end the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and teamwork in achieving their goals.

He also mentioned the significance of the Amahoro stadium, which was once a place of refuge during the dark days of the genocide but now stands as a symbol of Rwanda’s freedom and progress.

Over the past three decades, Rwanda has made significant strides in infrastructure development, with new roads, stadiums, schools, hospitals, and tourist attractions contributing to the country’s growth.

President Kagame urged the youth to protect and continue to fight for Rwanda’s progress, emphasizing their role in shaping the country’s future.

As Rwanda continues its journey towards sustainable development, unity, cooperation, and hard work remain key values that define the Rwandan people. Liberation Day is celebrated annually on July 4th as a reminder of the country’s resilience and determination to move forward.
