The 12th room of the Muhabura hotel is an archive of the famous Diana Fossey locally known as Nyiramacibiri, a veterinarian who has been in the Volcano National Park looking after the Rwandan mountain Gorillas.

After she was murdered by poachers in 1985, the 12th room of Muhabura hotel where she was used to enjoying her meals and rest has kept all the history of Nyiramacibiri.

The room contains Diana’s pictures, her bed, the books and other materials that she used in her daily life.

“We decided to keep history of Diana Fossey in 12th room because is where she used to live for historical purpose.” The Managing Director of Muhura Hotel has said.
